To receive this endorsement, applicants must pass a test consisting of 20 multiple choice questions. Each question has two, three or four answer choices. To pass, the applicant must answer at least 16 questions correctly. Test questions come from the Utah Commercial Driver License Handbook. Questions come from chapters covering: Driving Safely, Transporting Passengers Safely, Pre-Trip Vehicle Inspection Test, Basic Vehicle Control Skills Test and On-Road Driving. The Passenger endorsement can be used with the Class A, B or C CDL.
To DMV Handbooks1. If something is found to be unsafe during a pre-trip inspection, you should:
Continue with the trip and make an appointment with a mechanic after the trip is completed.
Let a more experienced driver use the truck.
Get the issue fixed immediately.
Not use the items found to be unsafe, but may continue driving normally.
